2010 will be a special year for Hartlepool with The Tall Ships race making a return to our shores. The race planned for 2010 should hold very special memories for two of Dyke House School pupils.

Welcome to the new Dyke House Sports and Technology College website this is a community driven site.  At the heart of this online community are our learners.  Our purpose is to raise educational standards across the curriculum and provide support for learners at any time of the day.  Dyke House is the only secondary school locally to have the national ICT Mark which we have been re-awarded following a re-inspection in July 2008. Our aspiration is to make use of technology to support teaching and learning and to continue to make learning interesting and enjoyable..

This is an exciting time for learners and staff at the school. We now have our brand new improved website. We already have a desktop family computer scheme to support every family associated with our school in having an affordable desktop computer for family use linked to the internet.   We will continue to support family learning as well as daytime classes for pupils and evening classes for adults.    By 2012 we will have a totally refurbished school building with ICT even better than it is now.

Dyke House Sports and Technology College is an average sized 11-16 community based foundation school. The school gained specialist technology status in 2006 and also became a specialist sports college in 2009. Our identification as an extended school is helping support our aim to build on the existing educational services to the wider community. Our aim is to further reinforce our vision to be the centre of a learning community and establish education for regeneration and sustainable development.
