A very enthusiastic group of readers from Dyke House have joined an exciting new reading group, along with pupils from St. Hilds, English Martyrs and Brierton Schools. This new inter-school reading group was launched in Dyke House School at the beginning of term. We are meeting to discuss the books we are reading once a fortnight, our next meeting will be at English Martyrs on the 10th March where will be talking about ‘Ruby Red' by Linzi Glass.
The Dyke House pupils are Danielle Shaw, Danielle Howie, Hope Twidale, Sharnie Mann, Ashleigh Oliver and Jack Ogden. All our pupils have contributed well to the discussion group and are enjoying reading the books and making new friends from other schools. We will be holding a presentation event to reward all the pupils for the commitment they have made to their reading. The other titles we are reading this term are, ‘The Boy in the Stripped Pyjamas' by John Boyne, ‘Mariah Mundy and the Midas Box' by G P Taylor, and ‘Being' by Kevin Brooks. All these titles are available to borrow from the OLC.
